These images 1, 10, and 100 second exposures, were taken in the Perseus Galaxy Cluster field. All images taken at PMO, summer 2000, Piggy Camera, Field Of View (FOV) approx 1 degree. Try modifying contrast, brightness, and scaling to show Questions: 2. Why are these objects so difficult to detect? 3. What factors limit our ability to detect STARS? GALAXIES? 4. How do we know when we’ve seen everything there is to see in a sector of sky? |
